Welcome to the pink consultant blog. It has been an interesting and fun first year being self employed. Much like starting anything new there have been steep learning curves, but I welcome them just as well. I recently read Robert Kiyosaki's book Rich Dad Poor Dad. I highly recommend it if you have not read it. While it teaches some basic fundamentals about income, expenses, assets, and liabilities, it is surprisingly eye opening on how to get caught in the "rat race." The rate race Robert talks about that does not work is go to school, get a job, and expect a company to be loyal and take care of you.
I started selling Mary Kay products and building a team of consultants because I no longer believe in betting my financial future in a degree and w-2 income. Before reading the book, I only thought of earned income. Yes I can appreciate the stability of a steady paycheck, however I also want to build long term wealth in building residual income through my team of consultants and some real estate investments.
With the power of the internet, we no longer need brick and mortar buildings to have a successful business. With websites, drop shipping, online merchant accounts that allow me to accept credit cards, and blogs, it has never been easier to take some risk in starting a new business.
I hope to create some value in each of my post. I hope to either inspire, educate, or give direction to a path that you have been thinking of taking. If you may have an interest in joining our team, please contact me. I considered several options before going with Mary Kay. They have systems already in place that allowed me to be up and running with sales very quickly with very little expenses.
